Due to the smaller image sensor of most D-SLR:s thefocal length of yourold lenses has to be multiplied with1.5 or 1.6. What happens with themaximum aperture? How slow ismy 100-300 F5.6 on the Canon D20?

It would become a 160-480 f/5.6 lens on a 20D. The FOV crop doesn't affect aperture, only gives an aparent multiplier effect on focal legth.
