Most Canon cameras have had orientation sensors for several years now, even the small ones. Several other brands have started to add them.

Open one of your images in Irfanview. Go File>Thumbnails. Highlight the first image that needs rotating and then hold the Ctrl key while you highlight the rest. Shift+J. Check rotate clockwise 90 or 270 degrees and Start. They will all be rotated.

It is best to always rotate the camera the same way so you can do them all in one shot.
