I think the problem older people (not to offend you guys. I'm 20 and i feel really slow in learning photography) do more in photography is the cost of equipment.
when i was still in bali i tend to have my dad digital A200 with me everyday i go. Kind of person don't want to miss good moment have to carry camera everywhere i go. As we all know the price of camera and accesories. Right now i don't have camera and planning to get one (post a Question A80 or 3700) I know photography and taking photos since around 10(i guess). My dad have Nikon F2 which i like very much. Got any tips to learn photography (cheap way preferred, no fancy camera or equipment just basic stuff) |

Actually your poll gives you the average age of people reading this forum. The average age of photographers may actually be younger...they (the whipper snappers) are out there taking photographs while we (the techno shuffle boarders) are here reading...hmmm :?

Great photography is a great hobby or profession. You think you are young check out his young photographer. This was last christmas and she was 21 months old. http://www.pbase.com/image/9996766 Merry Christmas Phil |

that is an extremly good point, but when it's -20 somethin' and snowing outside, even if its an indoor event, must people would stay inside (well thats just me, but...) photosbyvito: dont worry, i'm younger ![]() |

I was thinking along similar lines but I thought it would be the younger people online and the older ones who would be more likely to join photo clubs and prefer to meet physically. But from what I see here on the online poll and from my experience with the memberships in the Toronto area photo clubs the age range distribution seems to be the same. As for the ones who are really out there shooting and not online we will never know their ages ![]() |

I guess I don't fit that mold (or mould??) I've passed the 50 and we (my wife and I) spend as much time outdoors as possible in all seasons. In winter snowshoeing or x-country skiing and hiking. I've had a older canon manual A1 freeze up so none of the controls could be moved ![]() I'll upload and post some of my pics from last years winter. to the pictures area Quote:
