Jeff's a great guy (editor/owner of dcresource.com). But, if your check our Breaking News Page, you'll find stories about many of the same issues here.

This is an interesting problem.

Apparently, the generation of Sony sensors affected by the problem were packaged in plastic (versus ceramic), and the design or manufacturing parameters for the packages involved resulted in their being susceptible to elevated moisture and humidity levels.

I'm still wondering if Olympus, Pentax, and other manufacturers using these same impacted sensors will make their own announcements.

Although all digital camera ownerswon't be impacted, we could be looking at the "tipof the iceburg".
