I have an older canon powershot S10 that I recently bought off ebay - I cant get my pc to connect to the camera, I get a camera connection error. I also have a little keychain Shark camera that does connect so I'm stumped - I run Widows XP on my pc - Can anyone help ???

You may need the Canon software that comes with the camera. If you got it without, you may be able to download it from the mfr. website.

xp should auto detect most cameras these days, but it is possible as u mention its "older" that a vist ( as said in previous reply) to cannon site for drivers would be a good move, from the connection error id guess that if cant find driver, worth a shot anyway......:-)

I'd suggest getting a card reader instead of spending a lot of time trying to get Windows to recognize your camera.
They're very inexpensive now (you can probably pick one up for around $10). |

that could be the issue - in the owners guide it makes mention of Windows 95 and 98 but says nothing of xp - If I was to get the xp driver download - what do you do with it on your pc ??

If you downloaded and saved it, the next step is to double click on the file. This should bring up the installation routine. Other than that, I don't know what else to suggest. If you have any more specific questions, I'll be glad to try and help.
