OK,
my girlfriend has ben using my Canon G5 lately. A lot. But now that her birthday is coming up, I thought it might be a good opportunity to give her a digital camera (and get my G5 back  ) Basically I'm looking for a digicam with manual features (like the G5) that's capable of taking good pictures, especially night time cityscapes. I would get her a G3/G5 if I could afford it, but my budget really can't stretch that far. I've been looking at the Canon A80, and this seems to be more or less what I'm looking for. But are there any other "full" featured cameras I should look at? patashnik |

You should do some price-shopping in your area. Some places are clearancing the G3 for prices that are the same or nearly so as the A80. If not, the A80 is just fine.

Get her a G5.
That way, you will always have a familiar backup...assuming your relationship lasts.... Pragmatically yours, Digcamfan |
