I've recently sold my Kodak DC290, mostly because of the slow response. I am most interested in taking pictures of my aquarium fish. Since fish move around, I need a camera that can automatically focus and take the picture-- fast! I'd like something with at least 3MP, but higher is fine. Budget is pretty open, up to $1000.
Any recommendations? |

Might be an advantage to pick one that has full time auto focus, so as the fish moves it stays in focus as you track it rather than locking on a set distance e.g. Oly 3020, 4040. Not sure which others have this ability but I'm sure someone will tell you. Picture quality on these cams is great too. The colours are vibrant so should be great for pictures of your fish.
The Olys are quick responding cams. If close-up (macro) is an issue I believe the Nikons are the best e.g. 995. Steve |

I have used the DC2100 by Olympus. It has the full time auto focus feature. Works great but watch it. When in this mode it eats up battery juice. When shooting I would turn camera off between shots. Saves the battery. And of course carried a pocket full of batteries with me all the time.
