Canon s230 : Discontinued?

I need your good peoples help. I was ready to buy a CANON S230 camera but while I was at best buy, I was suprised they did not carry it and carried the s400. When I asked the 'kid' behind the counter, he said the S230 was being discontinued. I did not feel confident of the information he gave me and possibly Best Buy just wants me to spend more money on the s400.

So do you good people know if the S230 is being discontinued by CANON?

Thanks.

The S230 is over a year old so it isn't surprising that vendors would no longer stock it. The S400 is a great camera - go for it !

The S230 was replaced by the newer SD100. They are very similiar, except that Canon went with Secure Digital in the new model (the older S230 used CompactFlash).

IMO, the S400 is a MUCH better camera (compared to either the older S230, or the newer SD100), so I'd get the S400 if the price difference isn't too great.
