Image quality is very important to me. Portability is very important to me. Does the jump in image quality from a 3.2 to 4.1 megapixel camera justify the size difference. I know the s40 might offer the best of both worlds, but I have heard some less than positive reviews about that camera. Any thoughts?

Not sure about the Canon, but I'm planning on getting the Nikon 4300 based on the fact that it seems to be a kick ass camera. 8)
