While Carl Zeiss does make lenses that fit Canon cameras, theyare Canon SLRs and dSLRs, not the Canon P&S cameras. |

Thanks a lot.
Are the Cal Zei lenses better than the Sony's? Iwas looking at a Sony Cyber-Shot DSCW35 which has the Carl Zei lenses and also the Canon PowerShot SD1000 camera. I'm having a hard time deciding which oneto go for and which one would outperform the other... Thanks |

There are four companies that make the best lenses in the world: Canon, Nikon, Zeiss and Leica. I would suggest that you wouldn't be able to distinguish shots taken from both cameras based solely on their lenses. As to the the lenses themselves, the Canon is slightly wider and slightly brighterat the long end, while the Zeiss is slightly longer.
All in all, they are both quite competent and very similiar.I suggest you handle them to see which one you like better. But I invite others that are more familiar with P&S digicames than I, to comment. Edit: Spelling |
