I am looking to buy a new camera, and I was going to go for the Canon Powershot S2 IS, but the Sony DSC-H1 also looks like a very good choice. Now I am not sure.

Which camera would you choose, and why?

Or the Sony

I've stuck with Canon and I couldn't be happier. I own a PowerShot A520 and now a Rebel XT and love them both. ;)

I used to have Sony cameras and nothing but. Started out using a DSC-S50 (I think) and advanced all the way up to the F717. I still used my film SLR because digital didn't come close. I have since bought a Canon Digital Rebel and have not turned back since. The biggest reason is color. I thought the color from the Canon was more accurate than any of the Sony's i've seen and tried. I even bought a Canon SD550 and replaced the Digital Rebel with a 5D.

In Sony's defense, I haven't used one in a while so I am sure they have improved just as the other brands have.

My best advice, try both and compare.

My vote would be Canon as well. I was a Sony owner for years, but since I bought I Canon, the difference of color and control made me 'switch teams'. I LOVE my S2

Fuji! Better CCD sensor technology, better low/medium light image quality, much better at higher ISOs.
