I'll be going to an outdoor Christmas Caroling event later this week. There will be some lighting but it will be minimal. Need advice on how to get best pics. It starts around 7 p.m. EST. Thanks for any help. I appreciate all everyone does for me in this forum!

you can use a high iso (about 300-400, noise) and a low shutter speed about 125-180 and if you dont care about what kind of dof you want (probably a black background anyway) use a large apature about f2.8
i would play with the settings first, if the picture is too light, step the iso down first (to avoid noise) , then if its still light, step up the shutter speed if the picture is too dark, first try steping down the shutter speed (not lower then 60, if you want to stop their mouths), then try stepping up the iso, this may cause ALOT of noise, but the amount depends on the camera these are the steps i would follow, i would try shooting a friend or someone else to test your settings edit: i almost forgot, if you can, use a flash |
