Default Close-up medical photographs

I am a novice at medical photography, but am looking for a reasonably priced digital camera that will take close-up shots of for example skin problems. The closer the better.

Any suggestions?

Hi, macro work isn't my speciality, but I think I'd look at a camera that could have a ring flash fitted. This is a circular flash tube that fits around the lens and guarantees consistent picture quality without colour balance problems (important for correct skin colour), without shadows, and fast shutter speed (no camera shake or tripod needed), irrespective of available light.

For this the camera would need: A hot flash shoe or connector for the external ring flash, macro shooting modes, a lens or adaptor with screw filter mount, on to which a ring unit can be fastened. A camera which is not so compact that it is over awed and becomes fragile with a ring flash unit attached.

I have a Fuji 602 which does all of these things, but there may be better cameras people have used, e.g for dentistry work. VOX

I hear nikon is pretty much the best for macro, you might want to ask people in the nikon forum for some sample photo's to see if it will work for you.
