Well, they've now gone as far as to put the story from last night on their web page today. Grr... Here's the link: http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news...94/detail.html
If you look, you can see that they used the photos I shot, but zoomed way in on them so my logo is cropped out, then panned around on them as the background to their story. The photo on the page of the line is mine, as well as several of the ones in the video. This is really aggravating. Should I call them immediately to let them know that I'm aware of this, or wait for the letter to arrive in a few days? |

Well, now you're asking advice, so whether to call, fax, or write a letter is up to you. I guess part of it is whether you want them to stop using your images or just give you credit (and $$) for their use. All I can say is that I looked at the story and, woah. I find it interesting (in a non-legal sense) that they cropped out your logo on the pics... an attorney that you may consult might find that interesting too...
Good luck (P.S. don't forget to save whatever proof you have... TV is a very transcient medium!) |

I wouldn't make a big deal about it. Just let them know that they are using your photos without permission and ask them to compensate you at the standard rate. If they have any sense at all they will probably just send you a check and an apology letter. No TV station wants to get a reputation for unfair dealings in their home town.
