After some reading here I about to pull the trigger on the NikonD50!
My question is this: is it enough to print an 11x17 print on my next purchase, an Epson printer thats capable of printing 11x17. So is 6megs enough for this to produce quality results? also plz exuce my title typo, its 6megs not 63 lol |

Yes, it will be fine, although you won't be able to crop the image very much before the quality will start to deteriate. Just make sure you frame the shots well when you take them

11x17 prints would use 176 pixels per inch. As long as the image is sharp this should work for just about anything. However, if you plan to print landscapes with alot of trees, grass, and other foliage, especially if it cantains alot of details that are in the distance, you may find that 176 PPI is not enough resolution.
For me landscape shots require about a 200 PPI minimium. 176 PPI is about 12% less resolution. So it may or may not be an issue for you. Landscape shots are the most demanding, most anything else will do fine. |
