I have a digital camera with a built in flash but I know they sell bounce flashes for regular camera (omni-bounce)..what about for digital ??
Or what is the best setting to have your digital camera on to avoid having to use a flash BUT still have unblurry pictures ?? |

Yes, they sell bounce flashes assuming your digital camera has a hot shoe for an external flash. But, you need to make sure the flash is compatible with digital cameras. Some older flashes will not work in ETTL mode with digital cameras. What camera are you wanting to use an external flash for?

The Leica Digilux 2 has a very nicely designed pop up flash that will rotate upwards for bounce flash shots. I wish some of the other manufactures would have this feature as the Leica is so expensive.

Sure, Sony makes a couple for their digitals. Of course, like film cameras, digital cameras have evolved a lot of proprietary hotshoe connections to allow only full compatibility with their own flashes.
You can use non-TTL "automatic" flashes but they have to be manually set and you have to make sure that the trigger voltage isn't so high that it damages your camera's sensititve electronics. Some cameras have no hotshoe but DO have a PC connection. This is a wired connection from a port on the camera to the flash using a special cable. You'll probably need a flash bracket to hold the flash and the camera together. For cameras without a PC connection socket, it is possible to use a slave trigger (like a Wein Peanut) to activate the larger flash when the camera's built-in flash goes off. |
