Dropped Canon G9: Repair Options?
Hello everyone,
I just dropped my Canon G9, and cracked the LCD, which is completely non-functional. The camera still works though - the pictures come out OK (I'm using the viewfinder), but I can't do much (or really test if anything else is broken) with the camera apart from just using the default AUTO settings. I am looking at repair options - either online or in-store (NYC/NJ). Does anyone have experience with a store in the area, or perhaps online? I know Canon has a service center in Irvine, CA, but I'm keeping that in mind as a last resort. I'd prefer a repair store in the NY/NJ area. Would appreciate any insight. Thanks! |
If you're handy you can pick up a replacement LCD from ebay for under $40.

I'm actually not :( though I could give it a shot, but I'm afraid something else inside could have been damaged when I dropped it about 5 feet on a stone floor. That's why I thought a more professional look inside would work better.
