HELP! I think I've lost it. I'm trying to set a 1.5 stop down. I need to know what the EV equivalent of 1.5 stops would be. I know I should know the answer, but it's been a hard week and my brain has shorted out.

Can someone point me the right way?

Thanks in advance.

1 EV is the same as 1 f-stop or 1 full shutter speed (doubling or halving of the shutter speed). So it's simple: if you want to reduce by 1.5 f-stops, reduce exposure by 1.5 EV.

Do you know, I nearly didn't post that question 'cos I thought that might be the answer.

Many thanks.

BTW is anyone else having trouble with having to reset cookies every time the login to this site, or is just me?

The only foolish question is the one not asked. For the longest time, I did not know what EV was. I had never heard of until I got my first computerized camera, a Nikon N70 (35mm film).
