Default Electronic viewfinder

I'm looking to buy a new digital camera which has a mega zoom of around 10x optical and 3 mega pixels minimum. The problem I'm having is firstly finding one with a fast shutter lag time and secondly a camera which doesn't turn the electronic viewfinder off when you use a function such as continuous burst, as how do you know what you are taking pictures of if a moving target is your subject? Will I end up buying a digital SLR to get all the features I need?

I'm sorry that I can't help you with a new camera, but a refurbished C-2100 will do what you ask. The EVF only goes blank when the buffer fills up and the camera writes to disk (7+ shots, depending on resolution).
