I would rather ask about number of pictures we could expect from our cameras. Mine is a Kodak DX4330 which is one year old and I have taken around 5,000 pictures with it.

I have often wondered about the stability of the color filters (R-G-B-G) that overlay the imaging CCD. Do the filter colors fade (or degrade in any way) leading to images that are color shifted or washed out?

If there is degradation of the filters, is it a function of time or a function of use (number of pictures or temperture cycles, etc.).

I agree with Phil. I think it is more an issue of
the camera becoming osolete than wearing out.
