Well folks I've just about decided on buying a refurbished Olympus. One question that is still in my mind is the ability to purchase an additional warranty beyond the factory 90 day.
Is an extended warranty available on the refurbished C700 or C740 series? One more thought is I didn't notice many of Steve's Picture that had a credit to the C700 series Olympus cameras.. If nothing else sold me on making my move now, it was the display of the wonderful and beautiful pictures on display here. Steve, that is a fine job you are doing for the photography community. |

One of the extended warranty companies that we work with at one of my jobs says as long as the product has a 30-day manufacturer warranty, they offer an extended plan.
Depending where you are in the world. Not sure how this would work. But refurbished products are able to to have an extended warranty. http://www.vacservice.com/ is their US website Not sure if this helps..... |

(note I'm talking about Olympus North America here)
Since we're talking Olympus, Olympus has its own extended warranties for its products, which is a LOT better than dealing with a third party company. You'll have to ask them if it is also for refurbished cameras. The warranty also entitles you to a free checkup and cleaning. ![]() http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_se...1&accessory=10 |

That is good news. If I invest in something that is refurbished and cost nearly $500, I will take out some sort of insurance on it like the extended warranty.
Thanks |
