I'm getting ready to purchase the Casio EX-S500. Do I need to purchase an extended warranty?? They are around $60 for 2 years.

What is the concesus for extended warranties? I bought one for my Nikon, but didn't need it. BUt it is like insurance, great when you need it. And most of the places online don't offer an extended warranty. I've checked the stores that Steve lists at the bottom of the review page.

thanks for the help

It really depends on the specific terms of the individual warranty. Though in my experience the camera is more likely to be broken (ie, dropped) than break down due to mechanical failure (which is likely to be all the extended warranty will cover)
