Default first time buyer minolta or casio digital camera

This will be my first time buying a digital camera. I am looking at the minolta dimage g500 and the casio exilim ex-z4. Can anyone tell me which is a better camera. Looking for excellent picture quality for day and night time using. Or should I wait for the pentax s4. Any recommendations would help

Wait until the end of November and buy the Minolta G400.
If you can't, or must choose between your 3 choices, choose the Minolta G500.

IMO the Pentax optio S4 is superior to the Z4. Picture quality is about the same and they both have the same Pentax lens. The Z4 has a dynamite large LCD you can actually use, which is great for a camera you have to access everything via the LCD. Unfortunately there isnít much you can do except show pictures to your frinds in the great LCD because there isnít much to set. The Z4 is also slightly larger than the S4 and those cameras are about size. The Z4 is basically a point and shoot camera. The Pentax S4 has full controls and many features. The S4 has been available for a couple of weeks now: http://www1.dealtime.com/xPC-Pentax_Optio_S~S-6~PG-1

The G500 is a nice camera. I know nothing about the G400 other than it sounds like it is 4Mp Ė not appealing to me at all.
