Is there a way in this forum to receive notification by email of replies to one's posts?

Yes.

Just click on the User CP (Control Panel) choice you'll see at the top of every page here.

Then, scroll down until you see the Edit Options section and click on it. Within that section, you'll see a "Default Thread Subscription Mode" choice that you can set to "Instant E-mail notification" via a drop down list. Then, make sure to click on the Save button at the bottom of that screen.
