Default German Lens?

There are various manufactures that we all know are putting the Schneider, Carl Zeiss and Leica name on their camera's. How logit are their claims? Are all of the len's by these lens makers in each camera, are they just licensed to carry their name because a single len's is made by the German manufacture's and then assembled into the len's housing? :?:

I think what you are stating is true for the digital and film world. The lens are made by the German companies but assembled into housing somewhere else.

Schneider, Carl Zeiss and Leica all manufacture and/or license their optics. All three companies are heavily involved in other fields requiring precise optical devices, such as the Medical equipment, industrial scanning/inspection, and of course Government. The name 'Leica' was just purchased by a new owner, (camera products only).
