Default Getting ready for a wedding

The Fong Lightsphere works wonderfully when normal-height ceilings are present, but not at all otherwise. No real surprise there, but as I prep for my first wedding shoot I figure I better have a softbox handy for group shots if they want it at the alter where the walls and ceilings are far away.

I see a 10x14 for $55, or a 12x16 for $100. So the 10x14 sounds great. In either case, I'd have the flash off-camera on a light stand, positioned above my camera mostly.

As such, what sort of range can I expect from my flash (Nissin Di866)? In other words, how much light do I loose? Should I put two flashes in the softbox? Or two separate softboxes close together? I will be practicing this technique, but it will help to know ahead of time what to expect so I can buy the right stuff.

Also, the big softboxes block some of the flash sensors. Will this be a factor with the flash off-camera?
