First, does poland, france and germany take the same prong? I know they are all 220V 50hz but do the accept the same prong size? Thus do I only need 1 type of US to Eurpean plug adapter?
I will be taking my dsLR, P&S, Portable storage device, PDA, and Camcorder. These devices all accept 110-120/220-240 volt. Do I need to buy 5 prong adapters? Or could I buy 1 and bring my surge protector? Do I need a surge protector that accepts both voltages? IF so which do you suggest? I am a bit concerned that 5 devices may be hard to plug into outlets at a hotel since some are the wall wart type. In other words I hope I don't run out of outlets as I need to charge each device very night. Any help would be appreciated. I did find these http://www.voltage-converter-transfo...g-adapter.htmllook for the VP 4 model. Do I need 5 of these? or 1 and a surge protector? or 5 and a european surge protector? |

Here's something
http://www.kropla.com/electric2.htm As long as none of those won't require grounding pin (=devices with double insulation/insulating case) adapter to flat plug like in here should work everywhere. For devicing requiring grounding situation is more complex. |

Is that what you mean by ground? That if they have 3 US prongs that it gets more complicated. Or are all 2 prong US plugs not the same? |

NO - you will only need a Type C adapter - check the site above - none of the devices you have should be a problem.
Last I was in London I got this item which allows to work with all kinds of different plugs no matter where I am. http://www.dixons.co.uk/martprd/stor...p;category_oid= |

Yep, that's what I meant, plug with only two prongs/contacts means that.
Also it means enclosure of device is plastic which forms that second layer of insulation. (for case of internal wiring getting loose and touching enclosure) Devices with metal enclosure always require grounding because otherwise if internal insulation breaks/wire gets loose case becomes active and would cause some unwanted things when someone touches it. (with grounding it causes short burning fuse and cutting voltage) VP4 is plug for Euro-socket (modified and trimmed down C-type which prevents connecting devices requiring grounding to it) and fits also to Schuko (F) And what I compared to plug compliant with both Schuko (F) and type E it fits to those. http://www.kropla.com/!e.htm BTW, wouldn't it be easier to get just one adapter and extension cord with enough receptacles than pile of adapters? |
