Hi there, i was wondering if anyone could recommend a "good teaching" book about using a digital camera. I am really interested in learning more about aperature, shutter speeds and other tips and techniques and would like to learn more than i know now, which isnt much :-)
If anyone has any ideas, i would really appreciate it. I just got a canon a610 and love it, and use it mainly on auto and would love to learn more about what it can do...thx for your time sharon:!: |

I don't know about books, but check out www.luminouslandscape.com. It's one one of the best photography sites out there.

The best book is the manual that came with your camera.
Each day, try out one or two new things in the manual that interest you. After a while, you will have covered it all. -- Terry |

Lots of good tips at
http://www.airshowfan.com/guide-to-d...-cameras-3.htm and some definitions and more information at http://www.airshowfan.com/guide-to-digital-cameras.htm all quite well illustrated. There are lots of good books out there, but it's nice to start off with something simple and straightforward such as sites like this. DPReview also has a nice glossary at http://www.dpreview.com/learn/?/glossary/ |

Tom Ang's books are good. I think his bulkiest one is called "Digital Photographer's Handbook" or something like that. If you do an author search on Amazon it will turn up.
Bryan Peterson's "Understanding Exposure" is also very good. |
