I am looking at www.PriceJapan.com and their camera section. These guys say that they will get you almost any Japanese electronic product and ship it to you adding only a very small fee to the original Japanese price of the product.
I have never purchased from them before and their prices look right, as far as the camera department goes. Has anyone else here ever purchased anything from them and if so are they trustworthy? Any help appreciated. Thanks! |

I've never used or even heard of that company. They may very well be reputable, but I would be concerned about warranty issues. For example, Nikon USA will only service cameras sold in the US through authorized distributors. If you purchased you camera out of country, your out of luck. They won't do anything for you even if you are willing to pay for it.

In addition to the warranty issue mentioned, an international warrinty may also be not honoured in the USA. The item will most likely come with a Japanese (not english) instruction book and/or software and the menu items in the device will also be most likely Japanese as well.

Thanks all for your help. Do you know whether an international warranty will be valid for service in Europe?
Also, are Japanese electrical standards (I am refering to power supply plugs) similar to US or European standards? Will there be a great difference from the US/European package to the Japanese one, cable wise? Thanks again. |
