My sister got a christmas gift where someone took one of the digital photos she took and got it etched in like white powder or something that was inside a block of glass. she was told that some have a neon blue light that can be shined on from under neat the glass to create the almost holographic image in blue...thanks for any leads or help on what this amy be called or where i might be able to get this doine.

It is laser etching. More shops are doing it now. You can even take an object like a trophy along, they will do a 3d scan of it and then put it inside a block of glass or crystal. I think they look great!
