Default Help choosing my 1st digital camera.

Hey this is my first post.
I am totally new to photography but i'm in the process of buying a digital camera. The only thing is that i'm finding it hard to decide which one to buy. I've narrowed it down to the canon g3,minolta 7i,olympus c5050z and nikon 5000. I'm not going to wait for the g5 or 5400 cos i've waited long enough and every day i don't buy is just another day of picture taking lost.
In these forums people often ask to specify what kind of pictures one will take.Well i don't know for sure but i'm very creative and find myself contemplating loads of different compositions in my head while i'm outside walking around.

I want the camera to have loads of manual features because its not a case of it being a camera that i "may" grow into,i will set out to learn about photography and use it to its full potential, hopefully.
While all of these cameras are good in their own respects, does anyone stand out as being head and shoulders above the rest,in terms of picture quality, ease of use ie menus, button placement etc?

I tried out the canon in store and found it to be comfortable to hold and i liked its flip out and rotate lcd.
I also tried out the minolta 7i and found it quite comfortable too.Plus the minolta has a 7x optical zoom and i really liked the manual zoom ring(it seemed to give it a real slr feel)

Any help would be very much appreciated,
