Help Needed (Lens or Flash?)

Hi,

I recently bought a Canon Digital Rebel EOS 300. So far for the camera I have the 18-55mm lens that I bought with the camera, 1 IBM 1gb microdrive, 1 256mb CF card, a spare battery, a tripod and a uv filer for the lens.

So this brings me to my question, what would be better (for a beginner) :

A bigger lens (28-105mm) or a external flash (like a Sigma 500 DG Super)... ?

Any thoughts would be appreciated :D .

It depends on what you intend taking pictures of really.

Personally a lense with greater zoom would be of more use to me since the majority of my pics are taken outside in daylight and the built in flash is adequate for any other pics, but if you intend to take pics of people or objects indoors or in bad lighting then i would say go for the flash.

I concur with Zordey. Your photography style will determine which you should purchase first. I am guessing that like most of us you have to manage your money and it will take time to buy all your camera needs.
