I am planning to buy my first digital camera and I am totally confused as there are various brands with various features and I thought I could seek some help from some folks here. I went through Steve's wonderful reviews still couldn't decide on which one to buy. I have the following requirements.
Megapixel - 4 or 5 (as I might be printing 8x11 or 11x14) Shutter lag - very minimal (I used my friend's Canon Powershot, oh boy, it was tooo slow) Flash range - Minimum 15 ft Power source - AA batteries I am considering Casio, Sony, Kodak, Nikon and Fuji. (No HP, Olympus for sure). I'd appreciate if Gurus like you give me some valuable suggestions to pick up a best digital camera. |

What are you going to use it for?
How much are you willing to pay? How large or small do you want the camera to be? |

Mostly I will be using it to take pictures of my daughter and whenever we go out on vacation but I have a family function in the near future where I have to take individual and group pictures indoor and outdoor.
Also I can spend upto $400. As far as the camera size is concerned, I prefer a small one but if I get all the features I wanted on a regular size (SLR type) I don't mind. |

I am considering Minolta DiMAGE Z2 as it seems to meet most of my expectations. Can someone give their feedback on this camera?
