I need to sort some vacation pix in chronological order prior to
burning a photo slideshow CD. The problem is I have renamed most of
the pix and now the file dates are all wrong. I know the original
photo date is embedded in EXIF but accessing that info 1-by-1 would be
too time-consuming. Is there a nice little utility program that can
sort these files by original creation date?

Go take a look at this, it might solve your problems. It ordered a few files I selected for me. The name of the program is "Stamp". Definately shouldhelp in the future.

Thank you both. B--mine didn't look like that at first but in poking around I found "Choose Details" in the View menu...Date Picture Taken can be selected to add to the file details. This works in Explorer but my CD creator app doesn't have that ability. Great help in sorting the files, tho.

Steve--Using Stamp I can prefix all the file names with a time stamp that can be sorted by any viewer or CD burning utility.

I'll use both :D
