Hi, i just got this new video camera, a SonyHI8 CCD-TRV128 Handycam. I'd like to transfer my recordings to my computer to edit the footage. Anyone know how to do it?

Not sure if i need a cable? or some kind of card in my computer.

Thanks for the help

It's off topic, but...

This camera only has analog video, it doesn't have any digital output (no USB or Firewire). Because of that, you need a analog video capture device (this can be external on USB, or internal in a PCI slot). The problem here is quality. For highest quality, you have to spend more money (higher resolution, 30 frames a second, no dropping of frames). The capture card I own costed $1500, but it was top of the line.

The big issue is computing power, and LOTS of storage.
