My roommate has a Canon s410. I was wondering if it were possible to take acceptable pictures of the moon given the camera's capabilities.

We tried last night, but it didn't come out too well, we didn't have a tripod, so I figure that's why.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"If it doesn'thave the capibilities, what would be the needed specs to take cool night shots?

My wife is a serious birder with a serious birding scope and a serious tripod. Seriously. So last night we used it to view the eclipse, worked great, nearly filled the view (25x) so that we had to re-aim every few minutes. (The moon MOVES!) She says people take pictures through such scopes, but there are ... considerations. Apparently auto-focus can get confused, etc., and a Canon mount would cost more than the (expensive) scope. So I gave up, opting to just download somebody's pix (links appreciated).
