Default I need your advice please

I have ZERO experience in digital cameras. I bought a CASIO Z4U and it was terriable. Poor pics and poor LCD resolution.

My price range is between $400 and $600, what digital camera would you recommend for this price range?

Well you did not tell what you would like to capture. Without a clue I can adleast say; best image quality comes from a large ccd and large possible diameter of lens.

Within your budget I think you should watch camera's witha 1/1.7 or 1/1.8 ccd (a 2/3 ccd is more expensive). Next hunt for cameras not too small in size, concentrate on cameras with 2cm or larger diameter lens.
And last read all reviews for the camera. Inspect example pictures on possible flaws. Examples in sunny conditions tells a lot about camera colour performance at best. Photos of buildings or other straight objets may reveal barrel or pincushion distortionof the lens. And last browse Pbase.com for snapshots of your possible camera, inspect party and twilight photo's carefully. Almost any digital camera in that price range will show noise at low light, but some are worse than others (but could still be a great camera if you are into beach holliday photos)
