I also got my iPad right out of the gate (actually I have to pre-order it because of the 3G), and use this device daily...
IMO this is a fantastic tool for showing your portfolios - The iPad screen has the nicest look of any monitor while you can pinch-in or out, or quickly scroll through the different images. There's just nothing like it for portability on the go at this time (BTW it also has a picture frame mode at idle which can randomly fade-in and out your picture library) I use it daily for checking all the newspapers apps, and getting around traffic jams in DC or LA (there's an app for that too)! ![]() -> For transferring pictures I prefer a netbook though: 1. A netbook costs about the same as a portable backup hardrive with a display screen (but with a longer battery life) 2. A netbook has a much larger storage capacity than the iPad (for your RAW files) Last edited by NHL; Sep 21, 2010 at 5:59 AM. |

Even when it's "secured", it's not as secure as USB.

I don't think I've ever really heard anyone like USB because of its security before. :-)

You can put all the locks you want on as strong a door as you can get, but you're more secure if you can do without the door.

But that argument applies equally to USB surely?
A LOT of viruses and malware are spread through USB drives. |

Well, I disagree, but my point is that no data ever left a computer via USB without the operator initiating the process. That can't be said for wireless.

Let's just say people have a choice in methods of connection. Some like wires. Some don't. There's pros and cons.
