just watched a pair from that country get busted after the Australian who was dumb enough to reply one of these ended up in london after having handed over money as part of the deal. They used the "Need cash for the legal fees" and this guy paid about $7000 to them and then nothing happened. He just happened to get the same email back and passed it on to the current affair show here and they set these guys up and with the help of the British Police they got busted, all on Camera, it was very amusing to see these guys cry when they were caught out.

it's a scam. i've gotten a couple of them, nearly identical to the one you posted, the names changed to hide the guilty... typically they're from nigeria or some such place, and ask you to send them money for expenses in order to split a fortune with you. of course, there's no fortune, they're just looking for someone who's enough of a guppy to send them money. no real attorney or "personal representative", for example, would demand 60% of the total amount.

what i do when i get one of these is tell the person to send me a certified cashier's check for the amount, and AFTER it's cleared and safely deposited in my bank, then we'll talk about their fees. that usually shuts them up. they're kinda fun to mess with sometimes, 'cuz most of 'em aren't too bright...

"Yep, every now and then one of this scam type still shows up among all other pieces of junk spam mail to buy Viagra, get a college degree, loose weight, etc."

I hope that this sadcase that created these spam mails gets caught one day, and ordered to pay a billion dollars, just like those culprits that got caught not too long ago

I have received similar e-mails in the past and I have also read about them. This is a very definite scam. The links below are interesting sites to read about hoaxes and scams.
