My Kodak DC5000 quit last week. The display showed everything normally, but when I snapped photos, they just showed up on the display as smudges. The camera had been sent in for a "shock" recall about a year ago.
Kodak wouldn't even reply to my queries about the camera. So much for Kodak the next time I go camera shopping.
Anyway, I opened up the DC5000 and found the LCD ribbon cable hanging by a thread and it came loose when I opened the case. Now it is a real trick to get the cable back together, but it can be done. PTL It is working again. If anyone else has the same problem, I would be glad to help. Also would like to buy an old DC5000 for parts. Write
