Lens hood and filter at the same time?

Hello folks,

I just purchased a Canon EOS 450 D (XSi) + 18-55 IS lens and I'd like to get the EW-60C lens hood too. Is it possible to have this and an UV Filter on the lens at the same time?

Maybe a stupid question, but I'm still learning ;)

The Canon EW-60C lens hood attaches to a bayonet mount on the end of the lens, not the filter mounting threads, so using the lens hood does not interfere with the use of filters and vice versa.

And this is not a stupid question. Many lenses hoods do mount to the filter mounting threads.

Wow, thank's for your fast response! That sounds good - so it's the same with the Canon 55-250 IS, or am I wrong?

Yes, the 55-250 IS also uses a hood with a bayonet mount.

Perfect TCav, thank's a lot for your help - now I can buy those things :)
