I have a 49-52mm adapter on my Dimage A2 for filters. I am going to purchase a 1.5 or 2.0x zoom lens and need to know if I can attach a 52mm zoom to thefilter, or if I must attach a 49mm zoom directly to the lens. The reason isconvenience. I'd like to be able to swap out the zoom without removing filters.

Will the offset distance between the lenses affect image quality?

Not a good idea

By zoom I assume you mean a 1.5 or 2.0 tele Aux. lens. You do not want a piece of glass between the lens and the Aux lens. This will degrade the image quality.
