Are star trail photos possible with Digital Cameras? If so what is the quality compared to film?

as long as your camera can keep its shutter open for long periods, i believe you need one that will stay open for minutes, i don't know of any average dig cams that do that, you might have to look at slr models

I use Image Stacker to get this with my Olympus C-4000.
