I was recently bought a digital camera, I have little knowledge of how it works. I was in the settings menu and some thing I pressed or did, lost all my photos. Is there anyway of restoring them? I have tried some free restoration softwares on the internet, but nothing has worked.

I'm not sure if yours will be recoverable. If you tried a bunch of software already in attempts to recover, with no success yet, then it's possible that the photos maybe permanently lost. If you have a compact flash card, then it's probably best to not use that card in any way, and just store it...so that you can try other software in future. If you use your memory card after your photos had been deleted, then it's possible to make the situation worse. So better to just store the card away for a bit, and keep trying various recovery software. That is...card reader, card, and recovery software.
