Need advice on accessories/zoom?

I know this is a digital camera forum, but I have gotten a lot of friendly help here so am hoping that some of you will give me the advice I need. I have a Minolta X370 SLR and am wanting to buy a zoom lens for it as well as some other accessories. I take all kinds of photos, including landscape, but will be mostly using this camera for portraits/glamour/fashion. Can anyone tell me some accessories to buy for this and especially what kind of zoom would be best? I have a teleconverter but don't really know the difference and think I need a zoom. (This camera was my husbands and it has been in storage for a long time.)

Anyone willing to advise me...I appreciate it. I am going to check on eBay and need to know what to search for...
