So my brand-new D50 just started doing this a day or two ago, and I don't know if somehow the settings were changed, but I can't find a thing about this in the manual. The only thing I notice is that it says "highlights" at the bottom, and I don't remember seeing this before.
On review, almost all pictures have an area that blinks white/black, especially if there was any light in the shot (ie, a window or a lamp). No problem in the pictures when uploaded, but it's annoying to see that when you're trying to review. Battery is fully charged, and it still happens. Did I change something in the settings? Or is my LCD bad? Thanks, Jennifer |

You've switched on the highlights setting. The areas that are blinking are areas where the pictures is possibly over exposed. There are a number of overlay options when reviewing pictures and you scroll through them with the left and right buttons on the 4 way pad.
