A couple of days ago I was walking I managed to twist my ankle on the uneven roads here. I fell into a parked car and ended up on my back. In the process I cut both knees and hurt my right hip but as mentioned the ankle is the worse thing.

So this means I'm out of action, I'm on crutches and having to rest with my foot up. The Dr suggested to put me in plaster, as although he can't see any breaks he wanted to be sure, but I convinced him to let me just have it bandaged and promised to be a good boy. I'm 'pleased' to say I'm used to crutches, as I was on them for almost 6 months at the end of 1999 when I broke my leg in 3 places, so it's not hard to get around, but having both hands tied up means moving stuff, getting food from the kitchen (very important to me) etc is hard.

For those of a nervous disposition, don't look at my photo as my foot isn't pretty..... well normally it isn't pretty but with the injury it is worse! Just be thankful that this is from my iPhone and not even edited from the large version, just emailed in LQ to myself.

Really sorry to hear that Mark! Such bad luck.

Difficult to hold a camera AND crutches at the same time...

Wishing you a speedy recovery and best of luck with your ankle.
:)

Mark,

Sorry to hear about you mishap, hope you heal up quickly.

Walter_S,

That is when a true point and shoot comes into play, you can shoot with crutches.;)

Get well soon!

Bah, humbug! That sure doesn't look good. Maybe you can play with your camera and a macro lens on a lap-desk while you have your foot up. I'd go nuts if I couldn't get around and didn't have anything to do but watch TV...

Ouch!!! I've twisted my ankle pretty bad a few times, once even involved an ER visit. So, I feel your pain.

The Wife and I will be praying for you to heal quickly.

Good luck!

Well I'm hoping someone will bring me some flowers and then I will have something to photograph. I'm still without a tripod though so won't be as easy for really nice macro stuff.

As for the TV, I've not turned it on since being in Egypt as I only have local TV, no satellite, so 99.9% in Arabic. This is why I've been on Steve's more than previously to keep me entertained, that along with some music is about it.

I had to have 3 x-rays but fortunately they showed nothing bad. The Dr just called (he is the cousin of my future mother-in-law) to see how it is doing. He says as long as it is making improvement then there is no need for a plaster, which is a relief.

Thanks for the prayers!
