Hello All ,
a friend of mine was hired to clear out the Nimslo 3d warehouse in Norcross Ga. He gave me a pretty cool medium format 3D camera. The only thing is ,I cant find any trace of it anywhere.Ive contacted 3d clubs, repair shops and museums .I even wrote to an auction house in New York. No one has ever seen or heard of it and the auction house said they cant auction what they cant find . I was hoping you could help ![]() Its name is .....Nimstec Pro 3D ,it is in an aluminum bagalu case from France. The cam isalso stamped Made in France. Its a medium format cam that takes 120/220 film. The body seems to be cast aluminum about 6 inches square and 3 inches high ,weighing about 3lbs.It has a flip viewer and all the connections for a studio camera, like sync and battery. This thing is like brand new ,Im wondering if I have a prototype from when Nimslo was going under. any help ,would be appreciated, Thanks, Zotz |

You might take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nimslo
It seems that the image needed to be printed on a special printer. Also, apparently, Nimstec had changed their name to 3-DX. You can see some of their old webpagesin the Internet Archives. WowBB doesn't seem to like the link to the old 3-dx.com archives, so I'll break it up here: http://web.archive.org/web/*/ http://www.3-Dx.com Those two links should be in your webbrowser's address bar, one right after the other. |

Hey TCva ,
thanks for the help ,but I have already researched Nimslo , and still come to dead ends. Im guessing this is a prototype Nimslo was working on and had to drop because of all the court business they were going thru. The Cam is brand spanking new and has a beautiful case with its name on the front . Nimstec Pro 3D. I guess my real question is , How do I prove ,this is a one of a kind ? Thanks Again, Zotz |

Hey, Zotz, if you don't mind getting a little sneaky, you could look for some sites that allow members to buy/sell/trade rare photographic equipment and post the Nimstec for sale at an outrageous price.
That might get a rise out of rare-camera aficionados who will either rail against your asking $5000.00 for a camera that's only worth $2000.00 (with a detailed explanation of why it's only worth this much), or flock to the "bargain". If you want to start off with less controversy, you could just describe the camera on such sites and see what comes back. Collectors usually welcome the opportunity to hold forth in great detail about the stuff they collect. Grant |
