many digital cameras with video option lock the optical zoom when you are taking video; this is to prevent the audio from getting drowned by the sound of the zoom motor, or so they tell me; if you dont need theaudio during your videography does anyone know whether one can hack the firmware to give a choice of either optical zoom or audio during videography?

I own the same camera as Red Royalty, and as far as I know it does autofocus in video mode. (At least I never get out of focus in video mode, even while zooming)
