Hello, new here and the digital world. I plan on buying a Kodak 5 meg pixel camera. How ever, I am slightly confused about the docking station. I know you can use the dock for recharging the batteries, but do you really need it to down load the pics.?? If you can down load using the ubs cable, why would you need the dock ?? Also, what type of batteries would be the best to get ? Thanks for your help

If you get a separate card reader for your media, you just remove the media from the camera and download the pics off the card to your pc, without the camera or any software they supply with it. One advantage of his route is getting a USB2 reader which may be a lot faster than the cam, in a USB2 compatible pc.

If you think you are going to use the camera, it will need to be kept powered from the mains, as downloading lots of big files will discharge the batts. V. quick. Is this all the docking station is? Sorry I don't know this cam. VOX
